Another Sexyloops rod build with the dark blue wraps and silver trims that has been very popular this year! The HT4 is my all-round go-to trout and grayling rod for rivers/stillwaters.
HT6 and HT10 carefully customised to match a Nautilus reel! This is a bit like matching socks to underpants and something we do all the time at Sexyloops š Well itās something that Lars does anyway and since this pair of rods is also destined for Denmark then itās a Viking thing. Me personally often my socks donāt match.
fully customised rod grip
Every Sexyloops rod that we are currently sending out comes with a Zoom casting meet for those who would like a short lesson from me off the back of the boat. Just another great reason to make you next rod a Hot Torpedo!
As always for orders, questions and so on you can email me on paul@sexyloops.com Iām also available on WhatsApp +60198549552
This is a very nice looking HT6 Instructor with black recoils and winding check, a personalised grip. Very cool, Erwin!!
This may actually be slightly sexier than the standard HT Instructor series!
Remember we have both HT6 and HT7 Instructor blanks in stock. But there are also HT4, 8 and 10 Instructor rods in existence around the world. For more information about this or any of our Sexyloops rods please email me on paul@sexyloops.com
Itās taken a little while to build because weāve been flat out! This is Steve Hendersonās winning rod. Steve chose an HT7 with blue grey/ burnt orange whippings and a hook keeper!
This is quite a stunning looking HT4 crafted for Ian. Originally Ian asked for Latohegy Osage Orange but unfortunately we donāt have this option yet. However Lee had some pretty exciting looking wood he was wanting to turn.
Which came out like this…
And this has resulting in a quite wonderful HT4…
With a removable butt…
Fantastic work from Lee!!! š š
It was quite a funny story on the decision to purchase this rod by Ian. Many years ago when I had the first prototype HT4 I met Ian for a cast on the side of the A1 travelling from North to South. And now some 7-8 years later Ian has his rod. I hope it was worth the wait! It certainly looks amazing š
Quite a few readers would rather build their own Sexyloops HT. Particularly during lockdown! We can provide the Hot Torpedo blank, tube, decals, the cork grip, socks (or ārod pantsā as Ivica calls them!) and occasionally other components too ā particularly if they are hard to get and we have them!
Many years ago I built a Loomis IMX. I bought the blank from Steve Parton. Youāve seen my flies? Say no more! š
We donāt list this option in our shop and itās all personal service only. But if you have the dream of building your own Hot Torpedo then please drop me an email on paul@sexyloops.com
This is Mikeās HT7, build in Switzerland. He wanted to try the HT first and so I put him in touch with Flavio. Flavio is also a home builder and has quite a few HTs!
Mike writes, āJust wanted to let you know that a Hot torpedo #7 is now in Zurich for testing. š I fished it only once but it was a great pleasure to have the first self-made rod in my hand and it casts absolutely great.ā
It looks great too! I actually have a few of these to post and Iām now looking forward to seeing some trophy fish next š If you have a home built HT of your own, that you would like to share, then please send me some photos!
I know youāre probably thinking we donāt make anything apart from HT10s, but we do really manufacture other rods!!! Itās just that the start of this year has predominantly been HT10/Comp5 rods! And this is another one to Japan š
Iām seriously hoping that we get to cast in competitions again this year. Fingers crossed!
Iām delighted to see so many of these rods in top fly casters hands. We are developing a T27 competition rod now. This will take some time of course! I also have prototypes 9ā 5WT and 9ā6 7WT āfishingā rods also being assembled at the moment, ready for some serious testing.
For my next post I shall show you some home-builds š
As always if you would like to learn more about this or any of our rods then please email me on paul@sexyloops.com
There is an exciting comp casting scene developing in Japan. This is the third of four Comp5 rods heading over to Japan since the start of this year. Iām reading on Facebook 40m casts which is real championship level performances!
Iām looking forward to meeting these guys when the pandemic allows. There is rumour that Malaysia might hold an international competition but we had to postpone things last year. I would love to see casting sport develop in this part of the world and think it would be great for everyone involved. Iām looking forward to when we can do this š
Any questions about this or any other Sexyloops rod please email me on paul@sexyloops.com
We have a theme developing here in the Netherlands! First was the āSkywalkerā Instructor rod and now the R2-D2 HT763 š
Iām looking forward to hearing how Richard finds the new HT763. The last feedback we had was:
āI let rip with the HT3 yesterday. Itās certainly not your standard 3wt is it 𤣠Fucking laser tight loops and it can cast a full line. I had to muck around with a few lines to get it to perform in close. I settled on a Cortland Sylk DT (I didnāt have the SA DT in a 3, but Iām sure that would have done the trick too) It worked nicely at all distances.Ā Another cracking rod, well done mate.ā
