Start with the best!!

We had a 4 day camp - although we started late on the first day.

And we did fly tying!

We tied - Dries, Nymphs and Streamers

I was impressed with this - Elong tied this fly, it has a Fidget Style head, which he independently came up with. (Hasn't been debarbed yet)

I found this nymph on the way in. Seine Net next week!

Planning next trip which is to cover and investigate as much water as possible.

We were unlucky with the river, for much of the days it was high and dirty - we had two rainstorms. This is Khairul fishing on the rock. Khairul showed me the river earlier in the year.

No marks for style just yet!

Getting out was an adventure in itself. The Rocket C couldn't make it to camp and had to be left below the rapids

As you can see the river came up during our trip, fortunately all is well with the rocket

And then we met an elephant!

Ralak and Elong managed to make a dash down a shallow sidestream and the elephant gets mad.

Eventually with some coaxing the elephant allows us to pass

Obviously he likes to be boss!

This is how I learn peoples names nowadays :D The four training team are Khairul, Roy, Ray and Hasan. Elong and Ralak both work at the Mahseer sanctuary. All have learned to cast and tie flies. Next stage is to really dial in on the fishing techniques!
