After two fishing days coach is gently moving me to other line up. He takes Satu with him and I take Ronan and go fishing by myself.
Coach never says directly that you are fucking bad. He just mention that those two opportunities were... well you should get them in.
It is like in hockey game, you get pass, net is empty and you just need to put your stick on the ice and put puck in. If not you probably sit the next game. That's make you practice harder and get you back in the playing team.
Two days not having even shot makes you think lot of things. You have learned from mistakes (hopefully), you are working on your casting and accuracy. I surely did, I saw some fish rising and every time when I moved on the front of the boat, nothing. So I pick up the target from floating stuff, decided which bird song is mark... and I cast. I did that a lot.
About thoughts... am I so bad that guide give me areas with shitty fishing, that is surely not a thing. Can't I see fishes anymore, don't I recognize rises, am I driving too fast or too close to shore, should I use more electronic one to not make noise. I have seen those questions in my clients eyes, when you are not in the playing line-up you really start to loose your self-confidence.
We had night over in Gerik, did some shopping and refueling. We came back, second week. Now it will certainly happen. I'm fishing with Satu or alone. Paul is fishing with Ashly or alone. I have really good feeling about everything, I have trained my casting etc. I kind of know how fish behave etc. I have feeling that I'm back in the game.
On the second day of second week I realized that I have feeling to be in the game but I'm not in the box. I realized that I need to change my approach to the game. It is like Mötorhead says, Victory or Die. Don't wait perfect opportunity, shot everytime and plop. We often wait better chance and it might never come.
Be inside of the game, be in the box. It is victory or die. It is all about casting distance which gives you more opportunities and bigger area to fish, it is all about accuracy, which gives you 80-20 chance, fish will make final decision.
