Where I really get to work finishing fitting out the Battleship :))) I don’t know about you, but when I have something that I should be doing, but it’s not fly fishing, then it seems to take an extraordinarily long time! The irony is that I actually enjoy working with wood and building stuff. I’m not very good at it, but it’s solid if you know what I mean! It also looks like something Tarzan might have built, if he was a fly fisherman.
It’s been very interesting working with the timber here. I’ve recycled a lot of the wood. Some was drift wood I found on the lake. Other pieces were weathered pieces from old demolished buildings. I have no idea what wood type it is exactly but recycling definitely makes sense. Apart from being good news for the jungle, I think it gives the boat genuine character (and allows me to build in my caveman style).
Over on The Board some interesting topics, as always. A few of them have been taking up a lot of my time recently. So there’s another reason I didn’t saw any timber yesterday!

Now, should I get chopping or should I go fishing… decisions decisions…. I think what we need is more rain!! But then I would probably sit and tie flies…
Incidentally if you’re in Malaysia then we are open for business. Now and for the next 4-5 weeks is one of two prime times for Snakehead with Babies. Not only that but I’ve just seen a Gourami rise… damn!
Cheers, Paul
