Last week Phil Blackmar and I discussed the mental aspect of sport, I was particularly interested in how Phil learned to deal with the pressure in his professional career as a professional golf player and what we can learn from this and apply to flycasting sport.
It’s not just about flycasting sport of course, and also applies to taking fishing shots, instructor exams and even dangerous road conditions – as it turns out.
For me this is as much about what we do before the event – maybe even far more so – than it is about what we do during the event. We discuss both aspects.
I learned a very great deal from this conversation and can immediately see things that I can work on myself. I’m sure that many of you will find it interesting, particularly those of you training for the World Championships this or in future years.
Thanks Phil for a great conversation!
Here on the lake we are consistently experiencing the highest water temperatures that I’ve measured at any time in the past ten years. And the Snakehead do not like it! More on this on Friday’s page with Mika the Legend who is now 50 and therefore in his prime.
Great news: Hot Torpedo/Tortuga stock is in Spain!
Have a great week.
Cheers, Paul
