When I get ill I get ill. I think it’s because for 20 years I never got ill. Going summer to summer, you never get ill. So when it happens nowadays it flattens me. Total PITA because I had planned to go to visit the rod factory in Spain today, catch up with Pablo and Alejandro and meet Juan. But I’m not even recovered now, I fly back to Malaysia this Friday. Knocking myself out even further is probably not a good idea at all, not for me or anyone around me. I have an Ironman in two weeks time and now have an illness as well as jet lag to bounce back from. Plan now is a trip back to UK and Spain in January, because I really need to help organise a few things, particularly if we want to go to 500, 1000 and then 2000 HT rods annually. Which is of course the incredibly cunning plan, m’lud.
Anyway the reason I came back in the first place seems good now. Didn’t accomplish too much other than that. Maybe raised my running and certainly my swimming. But there are some things that matter more. Namely: Family.
Now… it’s all about to happen. We are coming into Wet Season in Malaysia. I may or may not be guiding next week. I should be, because it sounds like it’s going to be perfect. Then end of the week Zoom lessons. Following week I’m in Langkawi for the Ironman. I’m really looking forward to that. And then it’s Zoom, two websites to launch, testing the HT9 on fish and Wet Season guiding and fishing for Snakehead Babies.
December is now almost full for me. November still has openings. Sungai Tiang: you need to book the guys Feb-May. I’ll get their website up next week. Unlike me, they need bookings, and they need advance notice. So let’s make that happen for them, and you.
I’ve enjoyed the UK. It’s been great to see my mum and catch up with my sisters. Hopefully Charlotte comes over and does a half IM in Malaysia with me next year. That would be fun. We only live once or many times.
Have a great week. Next week… a fish!!
Incidentally HT rod orders currently have about a 3 week build time but this is reducing. We have new Sexyloops caps (in Malaysia) but I haven’t worked out how to send them without me physically visiting the post office. Perhaps I’ll just keep 100 caps for myself.
Cheers, Paul
