Storing fishing gears

Storing fishing gears

It is time to pack and store my fishing gears. First snow came this week and winter is pretty much behind the corner. Reindeer round-ups are starting and then sleigh ride season. There is lot of things to do before winter season and working with reindeer, but most important is now to store my fishing gears.

I dry waders after every fishing day, on next day those are more or less dry, same with wading boots. Now it is time to do winter storing. So on coming weekend I will ”wash” my waders and wading shoes. Washing means in this case rinsing. After that drying and then waxing the boots. Same thing to Satu’s stuff.

Lines out and clean them. Checking that brakes are loose from reels ( I loose them after every day) and checking that reels don’t have any dirt in. Then I pack flyboxes in the bigger box and also tippets and reels go on the same box. Wading shoes will go in one bag, jackets in one with waders. The ones which are for guests will go own bag and wading shoes on closet. (which I need to fix). I need to put mousetraps in the garage because when winter is coming the mices try to find warm place from our garage. It is not warmed put maybe because of dog food, they like to come inside. After one winter I found lot of food from one of my waders, a lot means that it was filled almost to knee high.

Forecast is that on Saturday it will raining water, snow, sleet etc. So it will be perfect day for storing. It will be 8 months until next season so long winter coming ahead, but like we say…… in winter it is less fishing and more sex.

Have a nice weekend
