Last weekend we had free time. Satu and I went to Oulu and had some shopping and relaxing time. We had some good food and sleep. We had something to buy which you can't have from Kuusamo.
Our master plan was to leave Friday before 13.00 and as usual something came up. One reindeer had problems with gas in stomach and we had to rescue that. Satu stapped it with needle and got some gas out but we had to get vet anyway to get some medication. So it was after 15.00 we could leave.
Saturday shopping, nice asian lunch and coffee. I bought new reel for my HT8 and old one will go forward to Rocco, german guy who got hooked on flyfishing last August. I had to get tripod for phone also so we can have some lessons and it will be easier to film casting, the one I had earlier is little bit too unstable and short leg.
I got message on Saturday that my new shoes will arrive on Tuesday. And they did. I just opened box and shoes are so light that it felt like nothing on hand. Really looking forward to use them on summer.
It has been busy week again. One big issue was that Satu had accident with reindeer on Monday and she is barely able to walk. She hit her knee badly and she has now two stitches on it, luckily no broken bones or anything like that. She hasn't been able drive a car even so she needed assistance for that also.
Tuesday temperature was 0/32 , which meant that all the gates etc has to be cleaned before wet snow frozes. Now on Thursday it is -14/ 7. So back to normal again. This changes in temperature made plumming in Nook frozen and Thusday evening I had to fix that. Friday we will have again guests coming to have overnight at Nook and I will cook dinner by the fire for them.
I need to prepare hoops before Sunday, we have two hours slot in horse hall, so we will have casting training and lesson from Yoda himself. I have materials ready, just need to make hoops. That is something I'm really looking forward also, to have a chat with Paul and start practising in middle of the winter.
Casting will be tacky in start, too long break from last cast. That will be anyway great start to getting ready for summer and fishing season. I have few bookings on coming summer, so if you have any plans to come and fish with me, now would be good time to start planning.
