She moved to our home 9 yrs ago, just before turning 18 yrs. Her life wasn't easy before and we know it wasn't easy with us either. Even we did our best to keep her together and shape. Things just aren't always in your hand.
Somehow I managed last weekend alone. No dead animals, house is still standing, no fire and even I ate something. On Sunday I went check how thick is ice on our lake. It has plenty as it was about 10 cm. It was perfect for ice skating as it was totally clear and flat.
I didn't go ice fishing as I built some fence and had dogs with me. Weather has been around zero celsius, little snow and then some rain so at the moment we don't have snow at all. That's starts to be worrying as winter season will start in two weeks and we need to have snow to start earn money.
On Wednesday new season in Arktiset vedet-arctic waters started, we did two episodes with them in August and those will be out before Christmas. In first two episodes they were ice fishing and had some nice trouts and arctic chars.
Satu said immediately that she wants to go ice fishing for char next spring. We haven't done that after 2019 and our favorite waters are not open for public anymore. So looks like that I need to find new waters for us.
I was really planning trip to Sungai Tiang in Malaysia combined maybe with salt water fishing on April. I don't say it won't happen still but I need to win lottery or something like that to make it happen next year.
We have had rough summer after Malaysia and money going out faster than you can imagine. New roof at the farm, solar system, silage making was ridiculously pricy this year ( so we decided to get own machines for next summer).
This all means that we have to stay closer at home and make some shorter (more) fishing trips. So if we make ice fishing for week, then maybe just maybe something in Europe and then absolutely few trips to Sweden. With that I can live over next summer before 2026 which we have plans allready.
Final drop to this was when she died. We were planning to replace her with time but now we have to rush. Our reindeer are out in the wild and we don't have reindeer taxi to get them home. Our hiace died few days ago. It could be repaired but it would only give few more months and as it would cost more than her price... there is no point.
I was hoping she would make to 27 club which would be on coming January but she couldn't.
After 26 years and over 550 000 km her life expired. So now we are trying to find new reindeer taxi for us (van, not totally new but second hand, used or whatever)
I start planning and hopefully ice fishing coming weekend.
