Busy August is behind. It was good one, lot of guiding and some own fishing included. First half went more or less with making silage and other stuff. Then we really kicked off. Really good days with guests, August is still my favourite fishing month here.
I missed last week’s FP as we were returning from Sweden and driving home on last Friday. Satu was too tired to drive so I had to drive and I couldn't write FP. Thursday evening went around snooker table as we had some really tight games with Stefan. We played until 3 am.
When left to Sweden two weeks ago on Saturday it was 11 pm after guiding day. I drove 500 km and it was 3 am when we arrived to Piteå and I had to have short sleep before continuing driving. We arrived Kraddsele early Sunday afternoon and weather was totally shitty with absolutely insane wind.
Luckily it went down enough in the evening to have short session. I also checked crossing for river as plan was have whole day on Monday on other side, where is not many fisherman as it is long walk or uncertain crossing.
Monday we went over after we were sure that nobody saw where we did it and how. I told Satu to find spot from down as I checked some small pockets before following her.
Satu found really good spot and caught some around 40 cm graylings and lost one close to 50 cm. I went more down on spot which I have been watching several times from other side. It was good pocket as I got one 50 cm and several +45 cm graylings. Afterwards other fishermen who saw my catches asked if I was nymphing as it was quite fast water. I gave them subtitles with my face and confirmed with words... dries what else you can do. :D
We had great three days in Sweden. We spent two days on other side, well I spent two and half as I had session on Thursday before leaving. My biggest concern was that someone would see where to cross. There are just some things you really need to keep yourself or really trusted people. As I got confirmation about crossing point from someone... I won't share it.
Second day on other side was also great day, not huge graylings what we expected yet good ones as biggest were close to 50 cm. Best part was great company and fishing rising graylings.
It is not always greener on other side yet this time it was better than home side.
This week I have been building fence extension, it is slow work alone, yet really good exercise. Make hole with iron bar, place pole (3m long), then take ATV so you have stairs, stand on top, take 14 kg machine so you can hit pole deeper in the ground. Lift machine so high that your hands barely are enough, use it, go down, move quadron, repeat....
I'm slower than expected, as I thought I could do close to 200 m per day. I didn't realize how much time it takes to preparations to get straight line, walk there and there spread poles etc. To be honest it is fucking heavy work with machine and making holes on hard ground... I can do 100 m +preparations for next day... then I'm pretty much done... it is harder workout than you would do at gym.
And I hate gym, but like this kind of workout.
Have a nice weekend and go fishing
