I got message from someone and he said that he would like to talk with me. I asked if he is around Kuusamo and answer was that he can be. I said that I'm home so yes we can talk. Next day he arrived to our farm, after driving 500 km. I would say that is long distance to come and talk with someone.
I was happy to meet Thomas, he wrote Friday FP before me. He has been staying our area for week now. We have been training his dog Einstein with reindeer and had nice talks also. I'm happy that we had chance to go fishing together also. I have had really busy week with guiding and making hay and having afternoon off and go fishing with friend is awesome.
In fact we had great fishing together, I don't even know how many graylings we caught totally, it was a lot. All with dry flies, well we used only dries. I tested Thomas's klinkhammers and those where best I have used so far. That will be different story in some point.
Thomas mentioned in some point about trick how to get fly off from rod. When you walk with rod, you have put fly to ring and leader goes behind reel leg, so you have some flyline outside of tip of the rod. It is easy to start fishing when you don't have to worry about flyline "inside" rod. So how you get fly of from ring, of course you can just use your hand and release it but when you have long leader like one and half times a rod... well it is kind of acrobatic move, especially if you don't have much space around, like bushes etc.
So what is Norwegian trick? It is how you get fly out from ring with simple move. You take leader from reel leg, drop line hanging and then..... just small tap to front of handle with other hand and fly is dropping and you are ready fish.
If you knew this, you have to agree with me that it is really great trick. If this new trick to you, try it and you will love it.
Have a nice weekend and go fishing

Ps. We have plan to go fishing again and test new spot for me, I hope it is working out nicely.
