Eight more days to go, then it slows down, basically dies. It will happen week or two earlier than before. It has been most intense season ever, not only because lot of guests but also because weather. Most of season we were hoping more snow and little colder weather. Past week it has been snowing liytle every day and heavy snowing coming on Saturday, nobody needs it anymore. Season will be done without snowing more.
I made short static. During past two months which would be excatly 76 days now, I have done my blaablaa 124 times just with German guests. On top of that many other groups, Spanish, Dutch, Britons etc. Now we stay on German ones.
It is Finglish when you speak Finnish and add English words on your speak. Denglish is when you speak German and add English words. Which seems to common when guides translate my blaablaa. And then it is my Germish, not sure which language should officially be most, yet I call my English with blended German as Germish.
Why I add German words to my blaablaa. Partly because I don't know some words in English partly because some words are easier to pronounce and it comes naturally. So naturally that yesterday we had totally English speaken group and started to speak German to them. My German is not much even I do understand way too much what people talk.
So I might do my blaaablaaa which is the year of the reindeer even 5 times per day, mostly 2-3 times at least. Same story, same facts and same jokes even 5 times per day, let it sink. Not even stand up comedians are doing that.
Sometimes story takes funny routes in our fireplace, and nobody is safe over there. It doesn't matter if you are CEO in travel agency, guide or guest, If you give possibility to me you might get part in show. I love how people suddenly brings up something and we get something to talk and laugh. Anyway let's go on subject.
Story and jokes are always new to guests, once in the life time, even this week had one lady coming back on next day as she loved farm and my jokes. There has to be something wrong on her as liking my jokes. Let's see how you feel about some of them, as I had to built something for me to use if group dynamic allows.
"Each summer all the reindeers grows new antlers and those can grow even 3 cm per day."
Now guests are eyes wide open, really 3 cm per day, that's a lot.
" I don't understand why you are so suprised something growing 3 cm per a day, we all know what will shrink one cm with every celsius degree getting colder in water. "
I know, absolutely stupid and bad joke. Only purpose is to confuse guides who are doing translation as some of the guests all ready know what I said and now guides don't know how to proceed. I have to have some fun in my life.
" In September rutting season starts, on that time males can gather even 60 females in herd and harem. And of course we herders hope that males do also something else than keeps reindeers together."
Most of the times there is some men in group who are wau and that's nice.
" I know some of you guys are thinking, wau, that is awesome it would be real dream to have 60 ladies just for you. Just remember, you will do that absolutely maximum 4 years, then you are castrated and you start to pull German people in the sleigh. And your highlight of the year would be when you get change to pull fat man with red coat during the Christmas time."
Every one are normally laughing hard for this one as irony is strong, German people who just had sleigh ride by castrated reindeers.
Well soon this fun ends and I have several months to get new jokes, which I ain't able to do. So next season will go with same bad jokes. Maybe I try learn more German.
I have 8 busy days left, then I have zoom session booked with Paul, just hoping that weather would reasonable for that. Then some icefishing trips and time to concentrate fly casting and getting ready for summer.
