I had little bit different FP originally in my mind. Yet I need to do little bit more investigation before writing that one. Well that sounds fancy. After last Friday monsoon rain summer is finally catching us. Friday we had 70 mm rain and really chilly, + 5 celsius.
Sunday I had short morning guiding for some French guests. It came with short notice, yet it was nice few hours. Weather was starting to warm up and there was lot of hatching, but only few rising fish. They caught few fish so it was okay.
After guiding I jumped to tractor and mowed two fields, Monday making silage bales from those. Tuesday there was little monsoon rain again.
Wednesday was warming up day and after heavy rain I had to wait for fields to dry. So we went fishing with Satu. River was brownish as coffee. I have never seen it like that before, reason was that after heavy rain they had to open flow gates from closed dam and water got coloured.
First I was really worried about fishing, dries didn't work as I guessed. I had to try anyway. Satu found great spot, well it has always been good and luckily she found right fly. She caught 8 nice graylings from same spot, when biggest was 38 cm.
I went downstream and had to go with nymphs as those were working, I lost one big grayling and landed one about 38 cm. It was absolutely nice afternoon reloading batteries as silage making was knocking on door.
Thursday weather is warming up a lot, we have +20 celsius and weekend will be even close +30 celsius. This is my window to make silage for winter. I have done 70 bales already and what we have left it will be solid basement for winter feeding reindeers. Second cut will be on August but I don't have to do all the fields, only ones which are next to farm, about 6 hectares.
So I have 13 hectares left, Thursday I mowed about six and Friday morning making bales and then wrapping. And after that mowing more etc. All should be done no later than Monday as I will let some dry totally and make dry hay.
We have one man, one tractor and 3 machines, mower-conditioner, baler and wrapper. So Thursday I sat 7 hours in tractor, Friday it will be probably 10 and Saturday about same. Mow, bale, wrap. Every time change machine and maintain it. It is man, tractor and 3 machines.
When I'm done, I will definitely go fishing. Waters are still cool and weather heating — it should still be good in early next week.
Have a nice weekend and go fishing.
