Just yesterday it was Friday and again. Time truly flies when you are behind on your schedule. We have plenty of preparations to do before the season hits us at the beginning of December. And there are always things which are not helping to catch schedule.
Saturday was a slow day and great evening. We had a small celebration as Satu was nominated as woman entrepreneur of the year 2025. She has worked hard to run her business since 2007 and it is really nice that she got recognition.
Sunday reindeer round-up continued and my day went on those. Monday morning I woke up with eye problem, as it was red, sensitive to light etc. During the day it got better, yet worse again in the evening. Tuesday I had to give up and go to doctor. There is no special eye doctor in our area, so I had to drive 3 hours to meet one, wait there for a few hours and drive back.
Round-ups still running, Satu backed me on Tuesday, and on Monday I was there myself. Wednesday was slaughter day, and first load of reindeer food arrived (9 tons). That should be enough for 2,5 to 3 months, depending on how well I handle feeding. We have started to collect reindeers back home, so it will be less during tourist season.
Eye is telling time for me at the moment, as I have to drop antibiotics every hour when I'm awake and some paste overnight. During the weekend we continue round-ups and I hope we get last working reindeers home from their holiday.
My snooker cue arrived during weekend and I'm really hoping soon to have time to test it; if truly lucky maybe one or two days in Sweden before the winter catch us up. Before that, plenty of work, some fence and gates to make, delivery of reindeer meat to Southern Finland.
I just don't know how past week went so fast. Maybe long days had something to do with it. I have to find some time with rod also soon, otherwise she could think that I have abandoned her, or should it be he or it. Anyway it's looking at me every morning when I go out and each night when I return.
Have a nice weekend and go fishing!
