“How it is going mate?” Ou shit, it's Friday. Thanks for reminding me. It is midsummer. This week has been busy and insane, not with fishing... with reindeers. We have reindeer marking going on.
Monday we were back from marking 2 am, well it was already Tuesday in fact. Then Wednesday we started other area 1 pm and finished that on Thursday 5 am. I had few hour sleep and out again. Thursday was like being really drunk without alcohol. That is normal life here at the moment.
I had first guidings two weeks ago, guests from last summer. First day we started late as it was heavy rain in the morning. Did some river and caught few graylings. In the evening short session in our lake and both caught one rainbow trout and we had short casting lesson.
Next morning we started with casting lesson before going to river. Weather turned great and we caught some +35 cm graylings. So season had good start.
I had to skip one guiding day as we had urgent fence building work. And then marking season started. This week we had insane rain from Tuesday evening to mid Wednesday. When we gathered reindeers on Wednesday everything was full of water, all ditches, small brooks and rivers. There was even new brooks in forest which I have never seen before, in dry lands there was small rapids goung down. So you understand how much rain we had. That means that water levels are higher than normally in this time of the season. Fishing will be great when it warms up little bit, or at least sun comes up
Well sun is up all day long but I mean clouds will go away, so sun can do it's magic. Sun doesn't set in here until end of June and even then it won't get dark until August.
Now I have to run as young German boy is waiting for fishing trip. We go to our lake and see how that will turn out.
Thanks Paul for reminding that it is Friday!
Have a nice weekend and midsummer festival.
