Last weekend was absolutely amazing, great ice fishing for guests and it was really tight competion. It was not about amount but weight, basically it was one fish competion between two gentleman. Some good food and drinks were involved and they booked next year also.
Monday we have one more ice fishing group coming which will be nice day also. This week we have been doing office work and a lot. We have some building projects coming this summer and there are lot paperworks around that. At the same time we make preparations for our trip to Malaysia and getting reindeer back to the wild.
Thursday we prepared gps and changed batteries. While doing that I realise that we have lot of devices and we need to continue work on Friday. Our plan is to do reindeer work on Saturday and empty the fence, or at least empty most of them. Some might be few days longer as it depends weather.
Last weekend and start of week we had warm weather and some rain, snow got totally wet and now we have had cold nights which make snow so hard that you can walk on surface. Satu did some casting training today on top of 1 meter snow. :D
We have done some shopping and getting gears ready for trip. I ordered tropical lines and some other gears two months ago. Haven't seen those yet. We leave next Wednesday from home and flight is Thursday. My friend got lines to Germany on Tuesday and he posted them with superfast delivery so line are promised to be here on Monday. Fingers crossed. I wonder why it is so difficult to get tropical lines from Finland.
Satu ordered other "suitcase" which is more suitable for fishing gears and tubes. That one she ordered 3 weeks ago as there was note that they have it in stock. Yep... in stock in Europe.... not in Finland which was not told... Satu has been making calls about pack. It finally arrived Thursday so no worries. Last time similar pack arrived just day before our departure so this is progress.
Tuesday evening I panicked. You could say holiday stress, but mine was different. We have flights, we have hotels, fishing, few days in paradise island, some days in KL and home. Last week will be holiday without fishing, except now I'm planning one fishing day around KL. Why I panicked... I'm worried that trip is too short and I won't have enough fishing days. We spent 2 days in the beginning for travelling and shopping. Then to the lake for 6 days. Then we are planning to go Sungai tiang for 3 days, one day in and out will be less fishing... and that was my panic.
After river back to the lake and then 3 weeks are gone as last week is "holiday". I will have my 50th birthday somewhere in Malaysia and holiday part is kind of our 10th wedding anniversary thing.
We have to make Digital arrival card for Malaysia. This something I found out about week ago. That should be easy part. The thing is that I never checked how long we can be in Malaysia, plan was long trip. When I checked how long we can stay....it is 30 days. So I was little bit freaking out as our stay is 4 weeks.... it will be 29 days.
I have been trying to contact bus company also. I bought tickets from KL to Gerik, my name only on tickets. Luckily name is not issue, as long we have to tickets and seats as we have. What I realised is that bus company has policy about packs, only 20 kg allowed. I'm pretty sure that ours will be more than that. I have been asking about weight but haven't got any answers. So I truly hope that it won't be problem, otherwise I have to dumb all special stuff which are going to Paul and Ashly.
We are getting ready, not easiest way.... but that is our style. :D
