Foiled! Or Maybe Not

Foiled! Or Maybe Not

Last week I wrote about spending time scouting marks rather than actually fishing, I had hoped to have a report containing multiple fishy successes, unfortunately it's typhoon season so nothing has come of it yet.

I'm hoping I'll make it out for mullet before temperatures start dropping and it's time to make the switch to seabass. I did get some encouragin news from a friend who went to one of the marks on Tuesday while I was at work and caught 2 mid size mullet, one of them is in the picture. Maybe I'll get down there at the weekend if the tides are right, but it's getting tight. Luckily I won't need to spend much time tying flies etc as I've got enough in the mullet box to see me through and I can restock over the winter.

In the meantime, I'll have to break out the silicon and get the mullet imitations restocked for the winter campaign. Plus, Hawaian Dave is back in Japan, but doesn't have his tying space set up so I'll have to make sure there are a few extra Sedotti Slammers in the big fly box for October and November. I always mean to get organised and be ready for all that ahead of time, but somehow I never do and need to play catch-up at the end of summer.. Maybe next year.
