Last Friday I traveled to Rügen island in order to teach fly fishing for pike (and pike perch) during the next two month. Friday due to traveling all day long was my first none fishing day since the beginning of May though. Since I am booked all days until the middle of December I think it will be pretty hard for Paul to keep up with the number of fishing days this year!? ;) Besides that I really enjoy reading Paul's Monday front pages. Paul is among the very few top anglers worldwide who spent enough time fly fishing to seriously crack the code for catching different species of fish. Most fly fishermen never get the chance to learn all the details of how to fish for whatever fish depending on seasonal differences. I really love to crack the code for catching a new species of fish, but it always means to fish significant over thousand hours, I think.
Right now I am on my way into an early morning fly casting lesson on grass and then hunt pike all day long. These fish are often hard to catch - especially if they are under constant fishing pressure! Anyway I have studied pike behavior during the past 15 years and probably will find a key to make today not only become a great fly fishing day but a proper catching day as well.
Nice fly fishing week to all of you!
All my best
