I’m just out from filming the final episode of the TV series, this last one being filmed in Sungai Tiang for Copper Mahseer. Despite some rain discolouring the water the first day, we managed some good fishing and hopefully an excellent TV episode! It’s always fun fishing for Tengas with the Orang Asli guides and I had a couple on the Bow and Arrow Cast.
Now I have three days of fishing the lake with Declan and George, who fly back to Tasmania on Sunday. George hopes to land a Gourami so we will try to set about them. They had a wonderful time up Sungai Tiang too.
One thing I would recommend for this river is to learn and practise the Bow and Arrow cast. Every trip up there I have made use of this cast to hook and land fish that are hard under trees.
