After just having caught the flue and not being able to fish for 3 days (yeah, that was tough indeed!), I am back into fly fishing for pike again. This pike-season we had guests from Switzerland, Austria, Netherlands, Italy, France, Hungary, Lithuania and of course Germany. Fantastic for me to absorb all the different fly fishing techniques and strategies all our guests are bringing in.
Besides I am the one teaching my clients how to increase their number of catches and improve their fly casting + fly tying skills there is always a lot to learn for me as well. Before having started to make my living on teaching fly fishing I never had such a fast learning curve. Mostly I did what most anglers do: Fishing more or less the same ways year in and year out...
But when fishing more than 300 days per year I was able to open up my mind constantly and changing my strategies every day several times - inspired by watching and helping all my clients to improve.
No doubt today I am able to help my clients a lot to learn new and different strategies in order to match all kind of different fishing situations.
Well, what can I say - am just very happy with what I do every day! Thanks to all my clients making this possible!!!
Oh btw. Paul, since I was ill those 3 days don't count as none fishing days, do they? ;)
Great week to all of you!
All my best
Bernd
