Thank you, you are finally done and over. There is not much to celebrate this year and still it will be year of new stories and bad jokes. We all have been in same shit but different wrappings. Still breathing and kicking so it could be worst also. I have to correct my sayings little, keep reading
Year ago it was clear that there won’t be winter season, and that was like living hell. Few people visiting, basicly same amount Finnish people as earlier years so it was so quiet that you could hear snow falling down from sky. I didn’t have big expectation from summer even booking looked okay in May.
We took risk on April and bought ReindeerNook, I wrote about it earlier this year. Accomandation with bed, fireplace, small kitchen and Sauna. It really started to fly on August and Septempber was fully booked. We have few bookings for next summer all ready and those includes guiding at river. In wintertime it is placed together with reindeer in the fence.
Guiding and fishing had some difficult periods because dry and heat but I was able to fix fishing so everyone enjoyed and we could do trips as planned. Grayling fishing was good as always and we landed some trout also, including one rising from Russia. We were not able to do our own fishing trip and that sucks, well I will remedy that on May with interest. Anyway summer guiding went over all my expectations and I’m really happy that Finnish people found guiding service and wanted to fish so much. It was also great news for Kuusinki trout as I promised to donate 10 % from guiding trips to close dam on Kuusinki river.
I had chance to meet river company people couple of times and I do see light in the end of tunnel for rising salmon and trout in Kemi- river. It is not close yet, still I have hope on that. Time changes.
December has been like good old times or even better, so if no-one fuck up we will survive this shitty Covid-19. In fact funny thing is that our daily selling is better than last winter’s best month selling totally. In September we made some changes in our life and now I have dropped 50 pounds which is about 23 kg, last time I weighed this I was almost 20 years younger and working in Kosovo for peacekeeping operation. FP photo is our new burger, instead of burger bun there is aubergine. Otherwise it is same old reindeer burger.
After all year 2021 was not so bad, it had some downsides like every year has, eventually it is how you take those punches and give back. Will I miss year 2021? Hell no, but I never miss anything which is gone. It is something that I can’t change so why worry.
Do I look forward to year 2022? Hell yeah, it can’t be worst than 2021 and I have planned fishing trip which I won’t give up easily, besides Satu earns real holiday finally.
About bad jokes; we have been vaccinated reindeers for years, now I have to add that against paracites not covid, just in case that no-one thinks that reindeers get covid vaccination also.
