Windy, windy, windy

Windy, windy, windy

Last weekend we were in Inari, 400 km north from Kuusamo. There were reindeer race finals and our reindeer did okay, as it made it 16. place. Really slushy conditions and warm. It was nice break after winter.

Thursday before leaving to Inari on Friday we had bbq night with friends. I can tell you that was really next level bbq. We had Manu from Patagonia in charge and I can tell you those guys know how to grill. We had whole reindeer on BBQ.

Weather has been warm and snow has been going down a lot, so much that reindeers could go back to the wild easily. We have to wait some gears for them and then we will take them back to the nature. If lucky it will happen end of next week or early after that.

After Inari I was planning some casting training. We have now easily more than 12 hours of daylight, darkness is done. Martyn wrote how weather can ruin your fishing trip. I have been there and done. It's really sucks if that happens, especially if you have short scheduled trip and no option to go with weather.

I have had those few in past years. It was not easy with weather in Malaysia but it didn't luckily ruined the trip. In Sweden I had have bad weather few times. Almost ruined the trip, as heavy rain caused rising water levels or heavy wind killed surface. I remember those, you had to push and find spots and fishes, absolutely challenging.

Now wind is ruining my planned casting sessions. Weather has been sunny and easily +6c/42F. It would be perfect for casting, except that fucking wind. It blows like judgement day is here. And it is not only that it is steady heavy wind, it has some blows suddenly and it really makes no sense to cast. Most of the times you are just waiting to have little calmer moment to start and then that blow comes and take your line.

Yes that will happen also during fishing, yet when I try to get some results to distance casting and tools to beat wind during windy conditions and get my casting on certain level. It just doesn't work for me to practise on this wind. Wind has been 8-15 knots, in blows close 20 knots.  As I have buildings, forest and hill around my practise area, those also turns blows suddenly.

Now it started to snowing with that freaking wind. So something else than casting today also.

Have a nice weekend
