It was few days only -3 celsius ( 27 F). That meant heavy snowing of course. So I have been cleaning snow and keeping trails on shape. As it is shortest day, it means that from Christmas eve our busiest weeks are starting.
From Christmas to New Year's eve we expecting over 500 guests to visit us and having reindeer sleigh ride. At the same time there are all the maintanance and reindeer feeding and work to be done. Luckily from today days are getting longer.
Today sun rises 10.39 and set is 13.25. So almost three hours day light. I have ice fishing guiding today. Guests arrive 10.00 am. So when sun rises we are at lake all ready. Let's see how that goes.
Last weekend we talked with Satu about what is most precious thing we own. My first thought was my fly fishing gears and especially rods. I didn't say anything because I was thinking that maybe I have something more precious. As you can't own another person so we rejected our children and each other. I'm not sure if either of those were even on the list.
I was still thinking my rods and set ups. When Satu told with firm sound that her most precious is her Lady Shaman HT6 rod. I was little bit suprised and extrmely happy. I told her that I was thinking same and our reindeers, yet I will choose fly fishing set up.
I could live without reindeers, not happy but would survive. Living without fishing, that would be extremely difficult, I would say impossible.
It is shortest day and from now on days are getting longer and summer will come with fly fishing. Our precious are waiting real action and until that we will have some training.
Have a nice weekend and Merry Christmas
