This week I’m fishing with Tim Kempton from Australia. Tim is a good friend, who I first met ten years ago over here at the first Malaysian fly fishing gathering. We fished together on that trip and he took the nice Snakehead photo I’m posting today. (Haven’t changed a bit).
Since then he has visited me here many times, although this is the first time since Covid. We have also fished Bosnia & Croatia, the Kola Peninsula and Cape York together. Tim is a very tidy and very experienced fly fisherman.
Over here on the last trip he had a super Giant Gourami of over 4KG. And on the previous trip a 5KG Snakehead. All great fish for this lake.
Hopefully this time he hits is perfectly because the fishing is just getting better and better at the moment. He arrived last Friday so we have no idea what’s going on in the world. Tomorrow will be our last day on the water together here. And there should be some pretty big stories to tell afterwards.
