BFCC Calendar 2026

BFCC Calendar 2026

Tracy&James | Wednesday, 20 May 2026

Since getting back from the holiday, we have been working on the calendar for the BFCC and we now have a series of events for 2026.

There are five meetings where we will run casting instruction and competitions in sports grounds for the whole day.

  • Dodleston, Cheshire - Sunday May 31st
  • Guilsborough, Northampton - Sunday June 21st
  • Ashford-in-the-water, Derbyshire - Sunday July 19th
  • Jersey, Channel Islands - Sept 12/13
  • Brentwood, Essex - Oct 4th

Guilsborough is a new event for this year.  It was chosen because it is in the midlands, not too far from Rutland, Grafham and Pitsford, so hopefully we might attract some reservoir anglers wanting to improve.  The ground itself is just 10 minutes drive off the M6 or A14 so it's convenient to get to.   If supported this could become a regular venue for a meeting – we'll see.

For those interested in the competitions we will be competing for the BFCC championship and seniors championship (for over 65's).  The seniors championship was started last year and proved to be a tight contest; Mike Heritage eventually took the inaugural win.  The current overall championship holder is James who will be looking to make it a hat-trick of wins this year.

Anyone can come along and either have instruction or enter the comp events, or both. There is a possibility of one or two more BFCC days being arranged this year (subject to the key member's availability). Everyone who supports volunteers their time for free, including James and myself, so trying to organise dates that suit everyone can be challenging.

We will also be supporting some other events either providing instruction or competitions:

  • Northern Country Sports Show, Harrogate, Yorkshire - June 6th-7th
  • GWCT Scottish Game Fair, Scone Palace, Perth - July 3rd-5th
  • The Game Fair at Ragley Hall, Warwickshire - July 24th-26th
  • Joint event with GAIA at Chatsworth House, Bakewell, Derbyshire - Oct 11th

At these we need help from BFCC members and are always looking for more people to come along. The shows can be great fun for those who are interested in improving their casting, entering the competitions or just helping out. So if you are interested in any of the meetings or other events, please let me know.

Cheers,

Tracy
