My daughter asked me to find specific photo about me. I knew that it has been taken and I kind of knew that it will be somewhere in cloud. Only clue was that I was holding spesific antlers. So that meant that it had been taking after 2016, ten years of photos.
So I started to go thru photos. I knew that photo is taking during winter so I could more or less skip summer photos. I watched some of those also as there was some nice memories. When watching photos I truly understood how time flies, there was few shots guests having nice fish and I thought that it is not so many years ago.... it was 9 years ago.
My photos can easily be categorized based on subject. First there is time before COVID and after. Before covid summer photos are about fishing, reindeer and rafting, after covid fishing and reindeer. Few photos about dogs and nature and some farming work.
I didn't realize how much I have fishing photos, about guests, videos, casting and catches. Those are great memories. Winter photos before covid were reindeer, northern lights and snowmobiling (guiding). Those brought also some nice memories, some trips were tough and so much fun.
After Covid summer photos are same without rafting, I stopped rafting guiding after swimming 4 class rapid and also bookings came too short notice. Winter photos are same without snowmobile guiding. Most my winter guiding was in Russia and guests were from Mid-Europe, so during/after covid it died.
We are nowadays so busy at farm that I wouldn't even be able to do those winter guiding things. There are great memories yet it is time to make new ones.
Same goes on summer stuff, busy at farm yet now I will find also time for our own trips with Satu, fishing, meeting friends, fishing new places.
Weather is still difficult here. It is still warm, and if it is not raining some, it is heavy wind. I have checked fly tying box and I think it is time to bring it in and make corner for me.
Tourist once asked what we do here in Finland. I told him that in summer we fish and have sex. In winter we fish less.
I found some photos when I was young and handsome. One was with my first over 50cm/ 1 kg grayling, it was taken with old fashioned camera as mobile phone's didn't have one on that time. I don't even remember year it was probably 1999 or 2000. It feels like ages ago.
It was when I was young and handsome.
Now it is only and left.
I'm really looking forward to summer and some fishing again, short casting session have been done so I know still what rod is.
Have a nice weekend and go fishing
