Here's a quick, and terribly bad, shot of a couple of Flatwings, tied by my friend Niels Åge Skoubo.
They're called Flatwings because the hackles are supposed to be tied in flat over the hook and lie flat, but I don't think I've ever seen a fly that has fished, where the hackles haven't turned. None the less, a few long hackles, a little bucktain, a little flash and eyes and you have a fantastic looking fly.
