Garry Castles is totally chaotic and without discipline (like all true Mugwai Hunters) and he is the only member of the party to actually have encountered a Mugwai. This historic event occured when he was a small bearded boy of seven years old. The horror of finding himself swimming alongside one large and ugly Mugwai in a remote billabong had a serious and profound psychological effect and he immediately forgot all about it.
