It's certainly not flyfishing. I think it's sock fishing....
I came across it at a lake, suspended from a willow branch so it was underwater. It's a rugby sock, and it's got a bunch of big hooks in it. It seemed to be filled with saltwater shellfish, this in a lake in the centre of the South Island. I'm guessing it's some sort of eel trap.
I wonder if Paul has something to do with it, could this be the "socks" part of the Sexyloops motto? Surely not. I don't think it would go down well on the Test, at any rate.
Could it be a ZA prototype undergoing secret testing in the Antipodes. Stoat?
I bet Andy could have used it for carp fishing on his birthday if he'd debarbed the hooks.
