This is the piece of river which led me down the path (literally!) toward flyfishing. The picture was taken about 250' above the river.

Some people may recognise this, but I'm not giving much away. Without a word of lie, hand on my heart, except for a very brief period each year this stretch of river has no fish over about 5" in it, and not many of them. In NZ a 5" trout is a tiny little baby one.
