Tonio about to bag a nice brownie for me on a high country backwater. These fish were mostly taken at about thirty or forty feet - max. But Later that day I had to take a shot at a big trout lying against the far bank of the river - a good eighty-five or ninety foot throw. There was a high tussock grass bank behind me so I had to get that back cast up there. One false cast to keep from spooking the fish, the 16 foot leader turned over perfectly and I rose the trout. Probably the best cast I'd made all year (ask Chris). I pulled the fly and missed the fish but I felt good. Believe me, if I'd landed that trout I'd still be doing the pimp roll.
