I like to tie my flies so they stand up to some use. I use the tag of the tying thread as a rib on the abdomen. For the the thorax of this DHE I wind the dubbing back from the eye and then wind the thread through it again to the eye and whip finish it off. All this extra binding makes for a very durable fly and if it doesn't break off it will catch a lot of trout before you throw it away.
