OK a couple of things here;
[1] Cool hand Lars is bollocks
[2] here is the technique for flyfishos: run towards the hole, slide up and attempt to cast your bunny jig with enough force to break the ice, fish the drop and hang on.
[3] if there is a next time I'll wear ice skates and drill 100 holes.
