Norway - Ice fishing

Norway - Ice fishing

Ice fishing as it turns out is really damn difficult. It's cold but not too bad since you're wrapped up properly but the poor fish seem to be lazing about cruising around at minimal speed. We tried for an afternoon but didn't catch anything - I think you'd probably need to leave the rods all day.

It was really interesting though and fun digging through the snow, drilling the hole, using maggots (I know!) and finally fishing with a 6 inch rod! The main reason for the trip was dog sledding though which was really top class fun, I'd thoroughly recommend it if you've never been. Today's FP if more a picture thread and another one of my hat thrown in... Paul doesn't like it. Paul also couldn't survive in this weather but that's a mere side point. I've also just this minute remembered he's got a book that belongs to me that I'll need to chase up to repatriate it!

Anyway enough rambling, enjoy the pictures!
