A bit of a chaotic day for me yesterday. On Friday night Mika and I got back to our island camp just after midnight. Only to find that Starlink was down. Customer service had me on the roof of the Battleship looking for serial numbers hidden in the dark. And then customer support disappeared.
So… two and a half hours of sleep later, I took the Rocket speedboat up the lake for an hour to give my morning lesson in Texas. Back at the Battleship still no Internet. Afternoon lesson meant another 2 hour round trip, this time so that I could be in Senegal. I fished my way back down the lake again and just prior to dark Starlink was back online and operational. Just in time for my weekly four hour inboat bike ride!! (I wouldn’t be lying if I was to tell you that I was secretly hoping that the Internet would still be down and I could drink cold beer around the campfire with Mika… but it wasn’t to be so!).
That’s a great shame about yesterday because I was looking forward to fishing the morning session. All last week I had multiple lessons blocking me from chasing the morning Snakehead action properly. Anyway I’m pleased I could still give my lessons. I have three new students starting this week with me as well so that’s exciting!
I’m currently moving Mika to a new jungle location today… “Ant Island”. Famed as much for being an island as for its ants. There are lots of freerising Snakehead appearing at the moment, and not a few around this island! The lake temp I’ve measured last week at 35.5C! feel good things will happen in this bathwater soon! And hopefully in Mika’s boat as well.
Must get a little bit organised because I’ll be teaching in Vienna tonight! Have a nice Sunday.
Cheers, Paul
