It is supposedly useful for casting across currents (better to use a Reach Cast) or for casting downstream (better to use a Collapsed Cast or a Parachute Cast).<\/p>\n<p>So why is it taught, you might well ask? That&#8217;s a very good question! It&#8217;s a useful &#8220;control exercise&#8221; and in part teaches you to make aerialised mends.
