Snakehead Shots

This is a video I made so that anglers visiting me in the Belum Rainforest in Malaysia can practise the necessary casting skills that are required here. In particular the ‘slipped-lift Pick-up-and-laydown’ shooting shot is absolutely essential.

However it’s not just a Snakehead Shot and if you learn it, it will save you one or more false casts. It is remarkable how little time you actually need to connect with the line hand in a shooting PUALD shot. It is just fractions of a second.

It’s an exploration. Bring a fly rod. Designed for you by Paul Arden.

As always, if you have any questions about this or any other casts then the best place to ask is on The Board.
