One of the things I’ve been doing these past months is teaching fly casting via Zoom. Most of my students are of an advanced level. After the lesson I often make a short video to recap key lesson points, usually with casting drills/exercises to practise for the next week. In this case I made a video to encompass the Cradle Grip, hauling from a bent elbow and, something I find particularly useful – the “Haul Twist”.
When teaching at this level I find it’s more about conveying ideas, things to try, games to play. This elevated casting position (my boat roof!) I find extremely useful for working on line carry.
During these very strange times I am available for Zoom Casting lessons. Email me on paul@sexyloops.com for more info.
Cheers, Paul
