Ronan's report

Monday 14th, November 2011

I did in fact survive the women in high heels. And I'm back in Hungary, at Latohegy. I previously had planned to be in NZ right now, however I've got too many things on my plate at the moment, which have taken priority and require being in Europe for a couple of months. For one thing I'm currently designing and testing Sexyloops tackle, something I should have done a long time ago, but have never found (or made!) the time.

Also while I'm here, I'm going to rewrite the Flycasting Manual and bring it up to date. I'll keep the old one on site for reference but the new one will have our definitions, the last ten years of knowledge and extensive use of video footage. Flycasting has come on a long way since I wrote the manual and it's time for a serious upgrade.

Also I have a couple of other projects on the go, such as rebuilding my flybox - it will be good to upload them to Flyshed, so stay tuned for pubic fluff.

But this week I have Manshit to do; I have to sort out the water heating at Latohegy, as well as chop as much wood as possible before the first snows. And of course this is supposed to be a great time for Asp fishing - although not according to Ivica! Winter pike is another option and I'm curious about Drava Barbel. And I also have Hucho Hucho in my sights.

The plan now is to be in Tasmania mid or end of January. Tasmania is a very exciting fishery that I'd love to get my teeth into again.

Have a great week!

Cheers for now,

Pic Of Day
