Ronan's report

Friday November 12th, 2010

Today (Thursday, 11 November 2010) is a day of remembrance for I and my fellow Canadians and of course for many other nations and peoples. I had my 2 minutes of silence at 11am to remember my many fallen brothers in arms, and then a stiff drink afterward, my wife never questions this now that I am retired. I will not dwell on that as this is the Friday edition of the SLFP. Support if you can PHWC.

I will instead remember a sight I beheld yesterday after packing up the truck at the end of my hunting season, two does and a buck - all whitetails, now do not get down on me for hunting, my wife Ann can't eat domestic beef or other meats any more, they "finish" them at the feed lots with grain, mostly wheat and oats, etc, she is allergic to gluten the protein in the grain. This discovery explains a hell of a lot from the last decade.

Back to the sight beheld, it was of the sun shining from behind Chief Mountain. My brother-in-law Ron was with me and asked why is it called Chief Mountain? This is what I came up with...

Chief Mountain is on a fault line and is actually in Montana, it's famous east face is better seen from southern Alberta, the east face was first climbed in 1892 and the three explorers including a Blackfoot climber found ceremonial remains including Bison skulls that had been left behind by Native Americans. The mountain has been sacred for the Blackfoot tribes for many centuries. The Blackfoot name for the mountain is Ninastiko. It has been called Kings Peak and Tower Mountain, but was changed to reflect the Blackfoot naming in the 19th century "Great Chief" Please enjoy the following tail of another chief...

A crusty old Canadian Army Chief Warrant Officer found himself at a gala event hosted by a local liberal arts college. There was no shortage of extremely young idealistic ladies in attendance, one of whom approached the Chief for conversation.

"Excuse me, Chief, but you seem to be a very serious man. Is something bothering you?"

"Negative, ma'am. Just serious by nature."

The young lady looked at his awards and decorations and said, "It looks like you have seen a lot of action."

"Yes, ma'am, a lot of action."

The young lady, tiring of trying to start up a conversation, said, "You know, you should lighten up. Relax and enjoy yourself."

The Chief just stared at her in his serious manner.

Finally the young lady said, "You know, I hope you don't take this the wrong way, but when is the last time you had sex?"

"1955, ma'am."

"Well, there you are. No wonder you're so serious. You really need to chill out! I mean no sex since 1955!" She took his hand and led him to a private room where she proceeded to "relax" him several times.

Afterwards, panting for breath, she leaned against his bare chest and said, "Wow, you sure didn't forget much since 1955."

The Chief said in his serious voice, after glancing at his watch, "I hope not; it's only 2130 now."
