Yes, it was just like that. Not ordinary FF weekend, it was Zen Fly Fishing. It was first time in my life I didn't caught any fish in two days fishing. Not because horrible conditions, not because cold, wind, and lots of similar excuses we used to use when on the end of the day, no any fish was landed. Not even because I am not so good FFman…. But I did try it very hard, I'd tried with almost 50 different flies per day, I tried it with almost all tricks I know, I did tried everything to catch a fish, but –I didn't caught any. Then I realize why I can't catch the fish. It was simply because I didn't want to catch any fish! (sic!) .

And then Dave Weaver told me something like that:

There is couples of stages in FFman life as fallows:

1. To catch any fish living in the water.
2. To catch as many fish as possible
3. To catch as bigger fish as possible
4. To catch as much different species as he can
5. To catch the fish only on certain (his own way ) doesn't matter about the size and species
6. To catch the biggest fish in his life
7. To catch only targeted fish, AKA Sight Fishing
8. There is no 8.
9. To be in Fly Fishing on nice Water with old and new friends. Catch the fish ? Who care about that, this is for novices in stage 1.

Conclusion:

a) Finally, I find my peace, my highest Zen stadium, this is the highest point one FFman can reach in his life. FF Guru who find his Zen , someone will say.
b) This is the biggest fu…cking excuse for someone who spends all weekend on beautiful Water full with fat and big fish but didn't catch any!

Hmmm, anyway, in POD you will find, Sterkfontain Lake in early Springtime, Waterfall ,Tying Session, Local Primary School help us with settling Zen Zak in the water (new Dave's Boat) Dave Weaver, Dr Hans, Theo and Rob who demonstrate tying of special fly called Jackal BB Fly. For Jackal fly You need hair from:

Afrikaans Jackal, Seals Fur ( I mean really Seals Fur Paul ),Wild Pig, Piton Moustache, Drakensberg Dragon's Tail, Serbian's Witch Hair and neighbor's dog or cat. If you got hairy Girl Friend, it is a bonus…. If you are bold, no any problem, you will save on shampoo…

This fly looks like ordinary Pheasant Tail Nymph, but it is not. That fly caught 8 fish in a ten minutes, when all the rest of the flies caught – nothing, in a two days fishing…..
