Fly Selection

The following is my minimum guide:

Dries:

Shipman's (#12-20) in various colours - try fiery brown, olive and claret
Suspender buzzer (#12-20) colours to match the natural (ie black, olive, bright green etc.)
Deer hair sedges (#10-16) body colours brown, hare and olive
Gold rib hare's ear (#12-18)
Daddy long legs (#10)
Ant (#12-18) black Hawthorn (#10-12)

Also consider: Wasp (#8), Hoverfly (#12) and Greenfly (#20)

Pulling wets:

Mini-muddler grenadier (#10-12)
Mini-muddler soldier palmer (#10-12)
Grenadier (#12-14)
Soldier Palmer (#12-14)
Black spider (#12-16)

Nymphs:

Cove pheasant tail (#10-12)
Seal fur buzzers (#12-16) colours to suit naturals (ie black, olive, bright green etc.)
Hare's ear (#12-16)
Sedge pupa (#10-16)
Damsel (#10)

Also consider Alder larvae (#10 long shank), Cased caddis (#10 l/s) - both leaded.
Also as a further option (booby trick): Corixa and Shrimp - also leaded.

Lures:

Marabou lures (#10 l/s) in black, in lime green and also in white
Mini-marabou lures (#10) in white and white/green
Whisky fly (#10 l/s)
Muddler minnow (#10 l/s)
Floating fry (#10 l/s)
Booby (#10) in orange, white, olive and black

Also consider Rabbit lures and Minkies - they have superb underwater action.
