The world's best flyfishing site.

Picture of the Day
Sunray Shadow

The Sunray Shadow invented by Ray Brooks some time in the 50'ies I think, on the shores of River Lærdal in Norway, is probably the father of all these later variants - the difference between this and the original is primarily the hackle. I think the original Sunray sported an underwing of white goat and an overwing of black goat and that's it. The original is also tied on clear tubing rather than these colored ones, but I like the colored tubes :-). Should be in every salmon fisher's box!
