Easy Spot Midge

The Easy Spot Midge
Hook: Tiemco 103BL, size 15-21.
Thread: UNI 8/0 Black.
Wing: Yellow polyyarn.
Body: Black FlyRite (#2).
Hackle: Black, genetic cock.

In the picture, the "big" one is a #17 and the small one a #21. I tie and fish this fly mostly in size 21, but it also does well in size 15, 17 and 19 - the larger sizes doubling, I think, in a tight spot for some terrestrial. It floats well and the yellow wing is easy to spot - hence the clever name!.

I have the pattern from a good friend, Peter, and I *think* he invented it, but I'm not sure. What I am sure of is that someone else must have invented it as well!

Here's the challenge - tie one in # 17 (or 10 - you'll love them), and let us all know how few turns you can tie a workable, durable fly with, and later on, I'll reveal how many turns I used without thinking about it, and how few I used when I was thinking about it!
