Deer-a-plenty

New Zealand is host to many introduced animals including several species of deer. Here we have spotted one high up in the hills of the Canterbury District. Deer are a timid species and the best times for spotting them are early in the morning or late in the evening. This one is called Ron.

Tomorrow: some flightless birds.
