The world's best flyfishing site.

True Colors.

Pumpkinseeds are one of my favorite freshwater fish. They aren't the biggest, fastest, or jumpinest fish around, but they have personality, guts, and the most incredible colors you'll ever see on a fish that lives thousands of miles from the nearest coral reef. I rarely target them specifically, but if I spot a few milling around when I am fishing for bass I always give a few casts with a tiny nymph in hopes that I can land just one or two and see those colors one more time.
