Heather Beetles and one Scottish angler's way to catch fish feeding on them.

Heather Beetles come in cycles - two generations in a year. If they are about early then there will be a second fall months later.

Alan Liddle was faced by fish gorging on beetles blown onto a loch, few of his existing patterns worked very well. This pattern emerged as the winner.

Ben: Paul could tie that?
Lars: He can do seal's fur but his hackles get around the wrong way - and no string, Paul likes string.
