The world's best flyfishing site.

Picture of the Day

Last minute fly pics as promised. From top left: blatant Ardenish Copy. Body - dubbed tan deer hair. Wing/thorax cover Ė natural deer hair. Thorax - as per body but wound with a single CDC feather in dark olive. Next comes a simple deer hair caddis using almost the same materials as fly one. Something worth noting here is that I scrunch up my deer hair within an inch of its life before dubbing. This achieves a nice straggly effect that is far more appealing (to me anyway) than a freshly dubbed bunch. Last is the Balloon caddis, a slight variation on a well-known Roman Moser pattern. Personally I think mine's better, why? Well you just gota love those legs, havenít you?
