The world's best flyfishing site.

Picture of the Day

A quick shot on the Truckee right through Reno. Not bad fishing considering the bridge a few hundred yards was one of the most infamous littering spots in the city. Divorcee's, who'd reside shortly in Reno due it's easy residency and marriage laws, would pitch their wedding rings into the river back in early twentieth century after leaving the court house. Even now the golden bellies of brown trout and the more common sparkle of rainbows can be found here. A little further up is a new whitewater park; casino junket tourists with their fanny packs walk along side kayakers down main street on the way to the river during the summer. Water is low for this time of year. Hopefully the river will be more than a ripple come late summer; it's been a dry winter.
