The world's best flyfishing site.

Picture of the Day
Saturday - Red and Gold

The gold has come out on lately! Many were in tight to the beach, just out from the wave break. Definite knee trembler when you'd see a pod of 3 or 4 moving along every couple minutes. I was using a couple of these red marabou worms with a tiny piece of shot to get them down a bit faster. You could fish mostly blind a little further out near a weed line, but spotting was a charge after spending months blasting a head out in an attempt to reach the shelf. Occasionally spooking them, they'd veer out, and fishing would slow almost as if they'd posted a little caution sign to the other fish. Luckily, more fish were just a short walk away.
